Formation cable operation
Release time: 2023-07-29
(1) The ship formation should comply with relevant formation principles and determine the formation order based on the arrival sequence of barges at the port.
(2) The tugboat slowly approaches the first gear barge from the outer side of the towed vessel, takes over the first gear towing cable, and stops in a timely manner when the tail reaches the first gear barge. If necessary, reverse and wait for the vessel to stabilize before hanging the towing cable. It is strictly prohibited to blindly start the vehicle and hang the cable.
(3) After hanging the towing cable, notify the barge team to remove the other ropes tied to the shore. After all the ropes are removed, the barge can only move forward slowly after blowing the forward signal. Gradually use a small rudder angle to raise the ship outward and command the barge's outer rudder. Only when the fleet has no obstruction to the incoming and outgoing ships and the surrounding docked ships can the ship move forward quickly.
(4) When setting sail after anchoring the entire fleet, preparations should be made for lifting the anchor before hanging the cable. The tugboat should approach the bow and dock on the windward side, take over the towing cable, hang up the long cable, and move forward slowly. When the long cable has just risen to the surface of the water, stop and slowly move forward after the long cable is firmly attached. The tugboat can only be towed and set sail after the anchoring operation of the barge is completed.
During navigation, when retracting and releasing long cables, the tugboat should first slow down to reduce the fleet's stroke, and command each barge to respond to the rudder. Only when the fleet is stable, straight, and bent horizontally can the long cables be retracted and released. When retracting and releasing long cables, attention should be paid.
(6) Formation, mooring, and deployment of long cables must pay close attention to the dynamics of incoming and outgoing ships and the surrounding environment. Only when there is no obstruction to other ships and the fleet can actions be taken, and signals should be sounded according to regulations.
(7) The formation of a fleet should generally be carried out by the pilot or captain. It is strictly prohibited to use one cable at both ends, and it is prohibited to temporarily pull out the cable from the cabin or anchor head.
When hanging cables midway, slow down and wait for the fleet to stabilize before proceeding. Fast hanging of cables is strictly prohibited.
