Preparations before the ship sails

Before sailing, the captain shall fulfill the following responsibilities:

(1) Upon receiving the voyage order, the departure time should be announced immediately, the crew members should be notified to return to the ship on time, and sufficient fuel materials and all daily necessities on board should be prepared.

(2) Check if the crew certificate is complete. If there are temporary substitute personnel, they should complete the procedures. For the duty personnel, they should provide a detailed introduction to the various equipment and maneuverability of the ship, and arrange the work properly.

(3) Check the status of the sailing certificate and other relevant documents of the vessel and the attached towing barge, and inspect the entry and exit port visa procedures. If dangerous goods are loaded, a dangerous goods permit should be obtained.

(4) Check the navigation aids, operating machinery, tools, towing equipment, anchoring equipment, and firefighting and lifesaving equipment of this vessel and the attached towing barge. If any problems are found, measures should be taken to eliminate them. It is strictly prohibited to sail with illness.

(5) Check the loading condition of the goods. The loading of the goods should meet the requirements. If it does not meet the requirements, relevant personnel should be notified to rectify it in a timely manner.

(6) Notify the cabin to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the main engine, auxiliary engine, shafting, and piping electrical equipment, and prepare for departure.

Before sailing, hold a voyage meeting, carefully implement measures, clarify division of labor, and assign responsibilities to individuals.
